It started out like any other poker
game that a group of fun-loving robots would get
together and play. As a matter of fact, it'd become a
weekly tradition that the six robots enjoyed a time away
from their robotic wives every week in order to get
together and play some cards. Of course, there was
always something interesting that happened every week
although some of them were certainly more interesting
than others. In this particular week, Captain Squeaky
decided that he was going to show his hand to the other
players, whether he knew it or not.
XR419 was the first one who noticed the fact that the
bionic components in Captain Squeaky's wrist were
malfunctioning although his robotic senses did not allow
him to pick up on the fact that every 2.37 seconds, his
cards would flip down towards the table and then quickly
flip back up. To be perfectly honest, it happened within
one millionth of a second, something that almost no
individual would be able to recognize. The robots that
were sitting at the table with him, however, picked up
on it quite nicely.
Whenever XR419 recognized that this was going on, he
decided he was going to use it to his benefit and clean
his friend out of poker chips within just a couple of
hands. The fact that he was able to see the cards,
however, was a little bit too much for him to bear so he
tried to motion to the other players so that they would
recognize it as well. Although they had a combined IQ of
well over one million, none of them could pick up on his
subtle hints that his friends cards were being shown to
the robotic world and that his hand might as well have
been laying on the table as a result.
Terminator 3000 was sitting directly to his right and
XR419 felt that he had the best opportunity to grab his
attention. He gave them a light kick under the table,
forgetting the fact that he had his own bionics upgraded
just the week before and he ended up busting a hydraulic
line in the Terminator's left leg. The Terminator
responded with the back of his hand, spinning XR419's
head completely around on his shoulders several times.
Fortunately, his neck was made to move freely in this
way, otherwise the Terminator may have injured him
permanently.
The other players looked on in amazement, not quite
understanding why the Terminator would act in such a
way, unaware of the fact that his hydraulic fluid was
slowly leaking out onto the floor. It was then that the
Terminator felt the wrath of XR419's laser vision,
something that would leave a mark for several weeks to
come.
As it turns out, nobody was able to capitalize on the
fact that Captain Squeaky's hand was malfunctioning and
they ended up stopping the game at that point. They all
had a good laugh, however, whenever they realized
exactly what was going on under the table. |
